Atelier Munro, continuing as Ajax’s Official Formal Wear Supplier, has created a new look exclusively for the men’s first team. A revival of classic Ajax style: sharp, confident, and unmistakably iconic. This season, Ajax 1 will wear double-breasted midnight blue suits, crafted from Jersely fabric made in Italy by Loro Piana, a nod to enduring sophistication. Each suit carries subtle yet powerful details: the classic Ajax crest, restored after years of supporters requesting its return on the jersey, now also making its way to the team’s formalwear, underscoring the deep connection between tradition and progress. To complement this, the look also includes a modern vest with a zipper in the same refined fabric as the suit. It adds a touch of modernity and versatility, allowing players to adapt their look to personal preference while maintaining a united appearance.

This aesthetic shift is more than fashion. It is philosophy. Ajax has always been known for its branie: fearless, attacking play that changed world football. Especially when we travel together. It gives so much presence. You really make an entrance, and it gives everyone a good feeling when you look sharp.”

Berghuis adds: “It’s good for the appearance of a team to arrive in a certain way. As a club you want to present yourself with pride. Even if it helps only a little on the pitch, that 1% is worth it. Feeling confident and comfortable makes a difference.”

For newcomers, like Ko Itakura, who joined Ajax this summer, the suits are a way of feeling immediately connected: “It’s important that everyone looks good together. The right clothing can make the team feel connected, like we move as one.”

Owen Wijndal reflects on the impression they make: “When we all arrive in such a suit it makes an impression. It shows seriousness, strength, and that we mean business.”

For Youri Baas, stepping up as a leader this season, it comes down to Ajax’s reputation: “I’ve even heard players from other clubs talk about Ajax arriving like this. It’s the right impression, and for a club like Ajax it’s important to present yourself in the right way.

The campaign was brought to life exclusively at Ajax’s iconic training grounds, De Toekomst, including the club’s well known outdoor training pitches. Against this familiar backdrop, Ajax 1 now carries its classic identity everywhere, embodying presence as well as performance.
