The sometimes-named California collar is unsurprisingly a staple for sunny days. We’ve recently introduced this shirt design and already can’t get enough. A contemporary take on your classic button-up, simultaneously elevated and laidback. If you’re looking to update your summer wardrobe, the one-piece collar is our pick.

Cut from a single piece of fabric (rather than the traditional two) the simplified seams give this shirt a distinguished neckline designed to stay up all day. The collar rolls beautifully creating a relaxed and slightly open look – a smart-casual style best worn without a tie. To truly achieve this effortless aesthetic requires a skilled pattern cutter, which is why made-to-measure is decidedly the way to go if you’re interested in this look. The design works in any of our shirt fabrics, but for this season we recommend crafting yours in something light. Think short sleeves in a summery linen or a cotton-linen blend.
