If you’ve never had the pleasure of witnessing the Calgary Stampede, imagine an entire city flooded with cowboys. Music, chuck races, more hay bales than you can count and, of course, rodeo. For ten days, Calgary is transformed into a celebration of all things Albertans hold dear. This year, the festival coincided with the soft opening of our Calgary Atelier Munro House.

During Amsterdam's Sculpture Biennial ARTZUID our collaboration with Jasper Krabbé continues. The artist and first-time curator will show a scale model of the monumental sculpture he made for the event in the AM House on Beethovenstraat. He takes us through the creative process behind the sculpture and his vision for the exhibition.

This summer brings new stories to share and, of course, a new, special summer wine to taste, thanks to another delicious collaboration with sommelier Simo Zbiri. Curated by Simo, the limited-run vin is created by Denis Tissot, chief winemaker of Châteaux Ministre, a small independent winery specializing in au natural production.

We recently got the chance to collaborate with two of the talented men behind Toronto’s Symphony Orchestra, creating a collection of quiet luxury inspired by their lives and work. One half of the duo is Mark Williams. He comes to the centuries old institution with a modern mission: to bring classical music to the masses.

Spring has officially started in the Northern Hemisphere and we can feel it everywhere. Every day more people find their way to made-to-measure clothing. The requests for lighter and more versatile pieces are gaining momentum and we are super proud to share so many new things this season.

As it gets colder outside and we’re busy finding ways to stay cozy, externally with beautiful layers, internally with warming cocktails, it is the perfect moment to look back at what we’ve done and where we’ve been. Reflecting on those special moments of the past 12 months. Reconnecting to the people we’ve met, the ideas we’ve made, the thousands and thousands of clients we served, dressed, and styled.

As we near the years’ end, enjoying the last rays of sun reflecting off the high-rises of Toronto and the canals of Amsterdam, taking short hikes in the countryside, spending afternoons on park benches trying to grasp the autumn colors, we are sliding slowly but surely into a more festive mood. Celebrating another year of hard work and milestones met, many we couldn’t have done without the people around us.

As we put the last hand on our new Toronto flagship store, seeing everything come together in one beautiful space, the result of a neatly planned operation that started over 10 months ago – I’ve been thinking about what it means to ‘return to work’.

The first issue of The AM Times. Not so much a milestone, but rather a stepping stone. A stepping stone to explore our love for character. Born out of a need to tell more stories, share deep dives, and explore the boundaries of what we’re doing at Atelier Munro.
