We can safely say that Amsterdam is one of the most unique cities in the world. Amsterdam is a city of many times and a city in time, as a famous Dutch writer once remarked. The mere fact that the city is below sea level is a sign of its rich history, of the creativity and inventiveness of its inhabitants.
